Experiments with different seaices in Hadcm3

Freedrift

Note that FD and EVP-with-p*=0 appear to be different. This may represent convergence problems in EVP, or (for all that I've checked) malignant space aliens.

Arctic - Freedrift type runs

All months for the Arctic. A messy picture.

Jan-Feb-Mar-Apr (ie, winter).

All overestimate the winter ice. None look too disastrous. EVP p*=27k is worst.

Jul-Aug-Sep-Oct (ie, summer).

FD comes out best, but none are too bad.

Antarctic Freedrift type runs

All months. Messy.
Jan-Feb-Mar-Apr (ie, summer). Most runs on the low side, somewhat; all with ice dyn worse than hadcm3...

Jul-Aug-Sep-Oct (ie, winter). The familiar too-much-ice problem. Slightly worse with p*=27.
