Global Positioning System (GPS) data, Rutford Ice Stream, West Antarctica, 2004-2006
GB/NERC/BAS/AEDC/00368

Summary

Abstract:
GPS positioning data monitoring ice flow during the RABID project. Data were collected using Leica and Trimble receivers at five stations on the ice stream, plus one on slow-moving adjacent ice sheet (Fletcher Promontory), and one on 'Tolly's Heel' nunatak (unofficial place name) in the Ellsworth Mountains.

The RABID project employed hot-water drilling techniques, down-hole instrumentation, as well as surface geophysical measurements, to form an integrated programme studying ice dynamics, basal conditions, climate and glacial history.
